Operation Gratitude is a nonprofit organization that sends care packages to deployed service members. Each care package contains an assortment of snack, entertainment and hygiene items, along with personal letters of appreciation. We plan to send 100,000 packages this year. We welcome as many names as you can provide.

LOS ANGELES, CA - Carolyn Blashek, founder of Operation Gratitude, the military support organization that sends care packages to deployed troops, is among five recipients of the Minerva Award, honoring women "who serve on the frontlines of humanity," California's first lady announced on Good Morning America last week. Blashek was selected for the award along with Oprah Winfrey and former U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor.

Van Nuys, CA. (June 17, 2010) - Operation Gratitude and BJ's Wholesale announced today that they collected 108,816 letters for deployed troops during May in honor of Military Appreciation Month. The letters will be included in Operation Gratitude Care Packages to be shipped to individual U.S. Service Members in 2010. BJ's Charitable Foundation will also donate $50,000 to the nonprofit to help defray the cost of shipping care packages.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C., - A Fort Bragg soldier recently returned from Afghanistan received a Harley Davidson Sportster during an Appreciation Ceremony in the Hall of Heroes at the Rawcliffe Center in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The donation was made by Lee Rawcliffe, owner of Sands Resorts and Don Allen, CEO of American Veterans Traveling Tribute ("AVTT"). A second soldier will be receiving a Sportster in the fall.
